There are generally three types of recruiters; transactional, search & selection and then internal.
An internal recruiter works as an employee of an organisation hiring specifically for their organisation and is usually part of the HR team.
The other two types of recruiters work for an agency, either alone or with other recruiters. It is this type of recruiter that most job seekers encounter.
